FAQ

Short answers to what teams ask before they send a work order.

Is the hardware ours?

Yes. The nodes, the racks and the power contract belong to Blackforge. During preview the site shows simulated telemetry, labelled preview wherever it appears, in exactly the shape of the real feed.

Why Iceland, and is it far?

Cold air and geothermal power make GPU hours cheaper to run and steadier to price. Training and batch work do not care about distance. For inference, round trips are about 38 ms from London, 82 ms from New York and 141 ms from San Francisco. See Network.

Does my data stay in Europe?

Yes. Iceland is in the European Economic Area and GDPR applies. Storage and backups stay in Iceland.

What can I run?

Any OCI image for Linux x86_64 built with CUDA 12.8 or later, the first release that targets Blackwell. Training, fine tuning, inference servers, evaluation, embedding jobs, notebooks.

Can I get a whole node, or both?

A whole node, yes, with an Anvil. Both nodes at once, yes, as a 16 GPU job on Strike or Bank when neither node is an Anvil, or as two Anvils.

How do I pay?

Card or wire, in USD. See Invoices.

What does preview mean?

The console and API are open by invitation. Prices and hardware on this site are final for F1. The figures marked preview are simulated and get replaced by measured ones in the first ledger after preview ends.

Who runs it?

A small team that has run GPU clusters before. Every work order is read by a person. Use the form.
